BLOOMSBURY FLOWERS WITH CAROLINE ZOOB – MONDAY 13TH AND TUESDAY 14TH OCTOBER 2025

After a sell-out workshop first held at this summer’s Bath Textile Summer School, Caroline Zoob will be teaching how to paint and stitch into antique linen. Inspired by flower paintings of by the Bloomsbury Group, we will spend the first part of the course exploring colour and experimenting with brushes to create flower shapes before choosing threads with which to embellish the design with embroidery.

What to Expect:

  • Expert tutelage in a friendly and welcoming environment.

  • working with fabric paints and hand embroidery.

  • explore colour palette with silk paint on linen.

Practical details:

  • No painting skills required, but some hand embroidery skill would be useful.

  • You will receive a printed design to use on antique linen.

  • This is a 2 day course, running from 10am to 3pm at The Bell in Ticehurst.

  • All materials and a light lunch is included. If you have them, it would be useful to bring the following:
    - a pair of small, sharp embroidery scissors.
    - a Frixon pen.
    - a selection of embroidery needles, size 8 is fine.
    - a small embroidery hoop.
