BLOOMSBURY STYLE PAINTED FURNITURE WITH JANE MCCALL – WEDNESDAY 12th JUNE 2024

£130.00
sold out

Day two of our full immersion in all things Charleston Farmhouse as we continue exploring the iconic ’Bloomsbury’ patterns created by Duncan Grant and Vanessa Bell.

Armed with plenty of inspiration, Jane will guide you through the technique of loose painting and free flow design to transform a small piece of furniture to grace your home. This is a fantastically satisfying up cycling day, so keep you eye our for a suitable piece to paint - ideally no larger than 1 metre high and by 60cms wide and deep. It needs to be cleaned and primed, ready to for you to get your creative juices flowing and not waste precious time on prep. Using Colourman paints, you will achieve a wonderfully chalky matt finish.

Combining this day with the painted lampshade workshop on Tuesday 11th June makes a perfect two day retreat to the country. You will go home with two beautiful things to decorate your home.

No previous experience is required for this wonderful day of up-cycling. The course fee is £130 to include materials (apart from your piece of furniture) refreshments and a light lunch.

PLEASE NOTE: Your piece of furniture should be no bigger than about 1 meter high and around 60cms at it’s widest. Occasional tables or chairs are ideal, as are standard or other lamp bases. If in doubt do ask.

For a very special experience, enjoy a night or three at The Bell in Ticehurst. If you would like to bring a partner who doesn’t want to do a course, there are plenty of great things to do locally – a perfect staycation to explore the delights of the Kent/Sussex countryside or our favourite arty places locally. Accommodation is subject to availability so please BOOK DIRECT with The Bell - by calling 01580 200300 or booking on their website. Please let them know you are attending a course.
