A Three-Week Curious House Workshop Series
We are embracing the great outdoors for our next occasional series of classes. The focus of these series is a day spent painting en plien air beside a lake in the stunning Sussex countryside on 17th June. in preparation for this we will spend the morning of 18th May in our class room at The Bell, exploring tonal painting, with a particular focus on green, and how to paint leaves, branches and reeds. We will gather together again on 13th July to delve deeper into our landscape painting, adding layers using a glazing technique and adding any finishing touches to our work, ready for framing.
Join us for an inspiring series of three workshops over the summer months, designed to help you delve deeper into the art of oil painting with the wonderfully talented Dani. Across these immersive sessions, you’ll have the luxury of time to develop your technique, expand your understanding, and nurture your creative confidence.
Participants are encouraged (but never required!) to continue their practice between sessions.
Who This Series Is For
These sessions are perfect for anyone eager to explore the possibilities of oil painting, gain confidence with materials, and demystify the process in a friendly, supportive environment.
What to Bring
Your own oil paints, mediums, brushes and canvasses. For those who haven’t been before we will supply a list of materials
For the en plein air day bring money! Food and refreshments are not provided for this day but we can buy a light lunch, teas and coffees and beer at the delightful tap room (the beer being very popular last time)
What to Expect
Two relaxed, uplifting creative mornings in the Curious House studio
One full day at Lakedown Tap Room with seating, cover should we require, toilets and amenities.
Expert guidance from Dani, with plenty of individual attention
Time to immerse yourself deeply in your work
A friendly group of like-minded creatives
A meaningful final artwork you’ll feel proud of.
Dates, Times & Cost
Three-week series
10:00am – 1:00pm at The Bell
10am - 3pm at Lakedown
£190 for all three sessions, including refreshments.
Should you be unable to attend, for whatever reason - we are unable to offer refunds for our courses. You are welcome to transfer your course to friends or family, please let us know who will be attending in your place. Alternatively we will try to sell your place via our database and social media once the course has reached capacity. If successful, we will refund or offer an alternative course subject to availability. Please note we will deduct a 10% admin charge for any refunds that are made.
