DELVING DEEPER – WITH DANI HUMBERSTONE 1st JANUARY, 23rd FEBRUARY, 30th MARCH 2026
A Three-Week Curious House Workshop Series
Join us for an inspiring series of three morning workshops designed to help you delve deeper into the art of oil painting with the wonderfully talented Dani. Across these immersive 3-hour sessions, you’ll have the luxury of time to develop your technique, expand your understanding, and nurture your creative confidence.
Participants are encouraged (but never required!) to continue their practice between sessions and bring their works-in-progress for constructive critique and gentle encouragement from Dani each week.
Week One – Composition & Creative Play
In our first session, we begin a single, meaningful piece that will evolve over the three weeks, alongside a more light-hearted project.
You’ll explore how composition shapes the narrative of a still-life painting: how the placement of each object influences mood, story, and impact. You’ll bring up to three items of personal resonance, which will form the heart of your main painting. For a little light relief you will also work on a playful small canvas depicting your favourite sweet treat - a speciality of Dani’s.
Week Two – Techniques & Depth
This week is all about deepening your technique. You’ll continue developing your main piece, exploring the rich variety of tools, methods, and effects available when painting with oils. Expect a hands-on session full of discovery, experimentation, and skill-building.
Week Three – Finishing Touches & Final Flourishes
In our final week together, we’ll focus on elevating your artwork with detail, nuance, and refinement. You’ll learn how to use glazes and finishing mediums to bring depth, cohesion, and vibrancy—helping your painting truly sing.
