DELVING DEEPER WITH OIL PAINTS – 20th MAY , 3rd JUNE AND 17th JUNE 2024

Part of our occasional series of three mornings delving deeper in to the art of oil painting with Dani. In these 3 hour sessions we have the luxury to time to develop our techniques working on one piece - but what a work of art it will be.

Week one: Paint a still life of your choice. This could be a single piece of fruit, or a more ambitious tableau including reflective surfaces or a lit candle, depending on your ambition. Bring along your own subject matter of choose from ours.

Week two: Bring your finished work from week one back to the classroom to learn the art of glazing. This is a technique used by the old masters to enhance the image adding a subtle layer or realism to your work.

Week three: A magical session, where Dani will show you how to apply gold gilt to your art, taking it to a whole other level of fabulousness. Gold reflects light in a unique way adding a certain majesty to any painting.

To get the most from this series, you may need to finish your work at home and and bring it along to each consecutive class. Dani will give you guidance and confidence to work at home should you need to and i always at the end of the phone or email for advice.

The series of three start at 10am through to 1pm and will cost £190 to include refreshments. We will supply you with a list of materials ahead of time - a worthwhile investment and will encourage you to keep at it!

This course benefits beginners and more experienced artist wishes to hone their skills.
