INTRODUCTION TO BOTANICAL PAINTING IN WATER COLOUR WITH JOANNA CHARLOTTE – 24th SEPTEMBER 2024

In this introductory course, Joanna will take you through the basics of watercolours, demonstrating different techniques of applying the paint such as wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, damp brush and dry brush. Joanna will show you how to layer these brush techniques to create a full colour rendering.

Once you have practiced these techniques, you will have a choice of vintage botanical artworks to pick from as reference material to draw your own botanical illustration. Joanna will be on hand to guide you as you use your newly learnt skills to paint your botanical artwork.

You will leave at the end of the session with a framed artwork ready to hang on your wall at home.

£135 to include materials, a light lunch and refreshments.

No previous experience required.
